Dubai: Total trades by US investors on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) in 2017, both on the buy and sell sides, exceeded Dh7 billion, the bourse said ahead of its roadshow in New York City on March 26-27.

The number of US investors registered on the ADX currently stands at about 3,800 investors, of which 1,637 are individual investors and 2,163 are institutional investors.

While their net investment reached around Dh1.5 billion, the market value of shares they owned stood at Dh11.2 billion at the end of last year.

The bourse said in an emailed statement that the roadshow will enable ADX-listed companies to engage with potential new investors, fund managers and asset management companies to inform them about their growth strategies and recent developments.

Commenting on the roadshow, Rashed Al Beloushi, chief executive of the ADX said: “We have much to offer investors from the US. [The] ADX is very attractive to international investors — particularly in light of that Emerging Market classification by MSCI, and the S&P Dow Jones which followed [the] FTSE upgrade in 2010 and S&P and Russell Investments in 2011.”
