Captain Hadef Humaid Al Shamsi was martyred while performing his national duty in Yemen
Dubai: The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces mourns the martyrdom of Captain Hadef Humaid Al Shamsi, who was martyred while performing his national duty as part of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition’s Operation Restoring Hope.
The General Command extended its condolences to the martyr’s family.
The UAE Armed Forces did not divulge the circumstances of Al Shamsi’s martyrdom. The UAE has lost as many as 69 soldiers in Yemen. Emiratis around the country are mourning the deaths of their martyrs, congregating in mosques and paying condolences to their families, who report feeling a mixture of pride and grief.
Last week, the body of Emirati martyr Sultan Saeed Mohammad Al Mazroui arrived in the UAE. Al Mazroui died in an accident in Yemen on October 11, as he was operating an Armed Forces vehicle.
On October 6, it was revealed that four Emiratis died in an attack on a cluster of buildings in the southern Yemeni city of Aden. A total of 15 soldiers from the Saudi-led coalition and Yemeni troops died in the terrorist attacks.
November 30 will be observed in the UAE every year to salute the martyrdom of Emirati heroes, it was decreed by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
