UAE Ambassador to Lebanon opens Zayed park in Sidon, Lebanon
Sidon, Lebanon: A public park named after Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan was opened in Sidon, Southern Lebanon.
The park, funded by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, was opened by Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, in the presence of former Lebanese prime minister Fouad Siniora, Mohammad Al Saudi, chairman of Sidon Municipality, and other senior Lebanese officials.
The park, located off the city’s waterfront, was forested and equipped with marble seats, a public library and cafeteria.
Siniora praised the UAE’s role in standing by the Lebanese people constantly and under all circumstances and challenges. He thanked UAE leaders, foremost of which is President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Parliament member Bahia Hariri extended her deepest thanks to the UAE leadership and people for the initiative.
