Abu Dhabi: A total of $25 million has been allocated by the UAE for urgent humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people, who are withstanding a brutal Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.
By late afternoon yesterday, authorities in the Gaza Strip said that there were 74 deaths as a result of the Israeli offensive, with hundreds injured.
The $25 million aid comes as per the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the close follow-up of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC).
The ERC is tasked with supervising the aid, and setting up a field hospital in the Gaza Strip that will provide medical aid to victims of Israeli aggression. The move reaffirms the UAE leadership, government and people’s long-standing and historic solidarity with the Palestinian people.
