Sharjah police ask Interpol to arrest a suspect connected to diesel sale slayings
Sharjah: Interpol has been asked to track down an elusive suspect in the death of two Pakistani men during a dispute over selling diesel in Sharjah on April 24 , a case in which 15 other accomplices have been implicated.
Sharjah Police approached Interpol to help arrest the main suspect who fled the UAE shortly before others alleged to have been involved in the altercation were arrested, said Salem Al Zaabi, a Sharjah prosecutor.
Meanwhile, the Sharjah Public prosecution ended its questioning of 15 suspects who were involved in the dispute in which two of men were stabbed to death. Those suspects are now in custody.
Al Zaabi said that the dispute involved two rival groups — one of them included three brothers — and they were involved in a heated fight over selling diesel fuel.
Two men were stabbed to death while five others were injured in the brawl after an argument over selling diesel turned violent.
Al Zaabi said prosecution investigated a number of illegal smuggling diesel cases, but the latest incident is the most serious to date given the brutality involved.
The fight erupted at the Al Sajja industrial area among two groups of men, then one of the group’s members promised to take revenge.
After a short time, a group of men came the scene and violence broke out.
Police received a call for assistance around 4.25 pm on Thursday and when they arrived found a large crowd as well as two men in a pool of blood.
Al Zaabi said the deceased were identified as F.B.A, 33, and N.F, 27. The deceased were stabbed to death in the chest and abdomen using knife.
The injured men were transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital and Al Kuwaiti Hospital for treatment.
Of the five injured, four were released from the hospital and were taken into police custody while the last one is still receiving treatment at hospital.
