Two killed, two seriously injured in brawl in Sharjah

Sharjah: Two men were stabbed to death while two others were injured in a brawl after an altercation between them took a violent turn, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.

The fight erupted at the Al Sajja industrial area in Sharjah among a group of men in their 30s.

Police said they received a call for assistance around noon on Sunday and, when they arrived at the scene, found a large crowd that had gathered with two men lying in a pool of blood.

The injured men were transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital and Al Kuwaiti Hospital for treatment.

At press time, the men were reported to be in critical condition and admitted to the intensive care unit due to serious stab wounds.

The bodies of the deceased were transferred to a forensic laboratory for autopsy.

A number of men at the scene who witnessed the incident were summoned by police for questioning.

Initial investigations revealed that the men who got into the fight were under the influence of alcohol when the brawl erupted on Sunday afternoon.
