Tropical storm approaching Oman coast

Storm is expected to gradually weaken before hitting land

Dubai: A tropical storm off of Oman’s coast is expected to reach the shore in five days, according to reports from Oman’s Directorate General of Meteorology and Air Navigation and Public Authority for Civil Aviation.

The centre of the storm is currently about 980km from Masirah island with estimated surface wind speed between 35-45 knots.

It is expected to move in a north-westerward direction and cross the coast of Oman between Ras Al Had and Ras Madraka.

It is also expected to gradually weaken as it approaches Oman’s coast.
