Dubai: The metro system in Dubai has become an integral part in commuters’ lives, with as many as 550,000 passengers opting to use the metro per day.
Within the last seven months, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) introduced 50 new metro trains with new features and a greater capacity to serve the existing two lines.
Joining the 79 trains that currently serve the red and green lines, the new trains will be part of the Dubai Metro fleet, 35 of which will serve the existing lines, while 15 will operate on Route 2020.

Although the Dubai Metro has become the best option for commuters, authorities are constantly searching for ways to improve its services, and that includes taking all complaints and recommendations into account.
In 2017, the RTA recorded a total of 3,231 complaints.
Mohamed Al Mudhrab, RTA director, explained that the top four complaints about Dubai’s metro included:
1. More inspectors needed during peak hours
2. Passengers’ lack of etiquette
3. Lack of prayer rooms in metro stations
4. Lack of access gates
