Country's leaders take to social media to mark national Flag Day

Dubai: UAE leaders took to social media as the national colours were raised high in unity on Tuesday across the country to mark the UAE Flag day.
On this occasion, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, tweeted about the significance of the occasion.
Shaikh Mohammad said in his first tweet: “Today we raise the UAE flag with love and appreciation for the president’s continuous national efforts and initiatives and for the country to remain standing tall.”
In a subsequent tweet, he said: “What has been manifested under the banner of the UAE flag is a journey of success, achievements and gains that the grateful and loyal children of the UAE have made possible by being devoted to the value of giving.”
Another tweet by him said: “Our cohesion today is what our parents and grandparents have embedded in us. It has been planted deep in the roots of the nation. We vow to God to preserve it for our future generations.”
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has also taken to Twitter to share pictures of him at a Flag hoisting event with 5,000 students.
Shaikh Mohammad said: “I was honored to attend a flag hoisting event with 5,000 students.. Raised in unity is one flag for a strong nation who’s proud of its identity and achievements.”
In a tweet after it he said: “Just as the UAE raised its flag high above its institutions, departments and ministries today, we also raised it high in our hearts…”
Shaikh Mohammad also tweeted how raising the UAE flag high raises everyone’s loyalty and patriotism.
“Hoisting the flag shows respect and loyalty to the union. May God protect our nation, our flag and our president,” he said.
In Fujairah Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Labour, rose the UAE flag at Fujairah Labour Office headquarters, as part of the annual UAE Flag Day celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghobash said: “This occasion expresses the UAE citizens' loyalty towards the wise leaders who carried the flag with pride and formed a wonderful story of a nation that achieved countless gains, achievements, progress and development in various fields witnessed today.”
The Minister said: “The UAE flag shall remain, with God's will, flapping in our skies to express a wonderful bond between the nation's leaders and people with pride and honour, to continue the steady march under the leadership of His Highness the President Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his brother, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and their brothers.”
