The accident happened on the Sharjah-Nazwa Road when the Iraqi driver and his friend travelling in a saloon car entered the main road from a side road and crashed into a SUV driven by the Emirati driver.

A police officer told Gulf News the accident happened after midnight. The passenger with the Emirati driver survived the crash and was moved to Al Qasimi Hospital.

Colonel Ahmad Bin Darwish, director of the Traffic and Patrol Department, urged motorists to abide by the speed limit and adhere to traffic rules to avoid such accidents.
