Snapchat woman arrested over indecent acts

Manama: Authorities in Saudi Arabia have arrested a woman who filmed mixed-gender dancing parties and posted them online.

The woman whose nationality was not given was also accused of posting pictures of herself in indecent positions, Saudi news site Al Marsad reported.

The authorities moved to arrest the woman following several complaints that the owner of a Snapchat account was posting videos of men and women dancing together at “wild parties”.

They also complained that she was trying to lure men into relationships with her through posting indecent snapshots of herself, sources said.

An investigation was launched and the woman was identified. She was eventually arrested in a recreational area in the capital where she and six young men and women gathered for drinks and drugs.

They were all arrested in a raid on the premise and referred to the competent authorities.
