Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday met with the staff of the Cabinet’s General Secretariat.

During a visit to the General Secretariat’s head office at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, Shaikh Mohammad met with the staff and expressed his satisfaction with the support provided to the Cabinet by the General Secretariat’s various administrative and regulatory units, which in turn also serves governmental work, accelerates the decision-making process and supports legislative operations carried out by all ministries.

He was then briefed on the secretariat’s mechanism for organising Cabinet meetings, such as preparing the agenda and executing the necessary preparations for drafting resolutions and following up on their implementation.

Shaikh Mohammad expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the secretariat’s operations. Shaikh Mohammad was then briefed on the plans of the legal affairs office, which was set up by order of Shaikh Mohammad in August. The office is responsible for introducing initiatives that provide legal support for the Cabinet’s operations. The office is tasked with submitting proposals and developing legal services provided by the federal government.

Shaikh Mohammad then listened to a briefing on steps taken by the General Secretariat to adopt electronic and smart systems for supporting the Cabinet’s work, as well as progress on the e-briefcase initiative, which aims to improve the decision-making process by providing ministers with relevant information and data that can be exchanged between other members of the Cabinet.

At the conclusion of his visit, Shaikh Mohammad visited the e-library and visited a gallery that documents the progress achieved by the Cabinet since its establishment.

Shaikh Mohammad was accompanied by Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and other senior officials.
