Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, made a telephone call with Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal praising historical and fraternal and relations between the two brotherly countries.

Shaikh Mansour cited the close brotherly relationship between President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika. He referred to the bilateral relations based on the bonds of brotherhood and common destiny laid by the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the nation.

Shaikh Mansour conveyed greetings from Shaikh Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the Algerian President.

He underlined the appreciation of the UAE government and leadership of the relations with Algeria and their keenness on developing them. Shaikh Mansour highlighted Algeria’s leading role on both Arab and international levels, recalling the heroic struggle and legendary resistance led by the Algerian people and culminating in regaining full independence. He praised the precious sacrifices made by one million and a half martyrs. Algeria’s independence was instrumental in ending colonisation in several other countries.

He paid a rich tribute to and praised the historical leaders who led the Algerian people’s struggle that led to the liberation of the country.
