Al Mukalla: The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, on Sunday reopened the Chest and Tuberculosis Centre in Al Mukalla District in Hadramaut Governorate, Yemen, after being renovated and maintained by the Authority, as part of a recent agreement.
The centre’s renovation and reopening is part of the UAE’s ongoing support for Yemeni citizens, under the directives of the wise leadership to enhance the level of local health services and support infrastructure rebuilding projects in the country’s liberated governorates.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Riyad Al Jariri, Director of the Health and Population Office at the Hadramaut Coast, and Dr. Khalid Abdullah Al Amoudi, Head of the Chest and Tuberculosis Department.
Ahmad Al Niyadi, Head of the ERC Team in Hadramaut, stated that the opening of centre is part of their continuous assistance to Yemeni citizens, and to ease the health and humanitarian burdens by providing for their basic medical needs in hospitals and government centres, as well as renovating and rehabilitating local health facilities.
He pointed out that the ERC’s projects to restore and maintain local health facilities are only the start of a series of development projects in Hadramaut and other liberated governorates, to improve the living conditions of local residents, meet their basic needs and provide them with a decent life.
Dr. Al Jariri praised the ERC’s generous support for the various services sectors in the governorate, especially the health sector. He also stressed the importance of the restoration of the Chest and Tuberculosis Centre.
Dr. Al Amoudi thanked the UAE and the ERC for their ongoing support and infrastructure projects in Hadramaut, and for renovating the centre.
The local people in Al Mukalla also expressed their gratitude to the ERC.
