Dubai: The unstable weather will continue on Thursday and Friday, bringing different intensities of rain over Abu Dhabi, Liwa, and Al Ain and dusty conditions in exposed areas.

A surface low pressure started affecting the country on Tuesday and Wednesday, specifically the Western Region and coastal areas in the western part of Abu Dhabi.

Forecasters expect this low pressure to deepen in the upper layers of the atmosphere on Thursday and Friday.

This could result in rain clouds developing in the southwest and west and moving inland, particularly in Abu Dhabi and Liwa, extending to Al Ain and some areas of the northern emirates on Thursday night.

On Wednesday, light to moderate rain was recorded over Shaam at 9am while Al Hamra received light rain at 1pm and Dalma islands at 2pm.

Moderate southeasterly and northeasterly winds kicked up dust in exposed areas, especially the western and internal areas, causing visibility to drop to less than 1,000 metres on Wednesday afternoon.

Al Ain and adjoining areas also had poor visibility of less than 3,000 metres at around 10am on Wednesday.

Residents are warned against heading out to sea as the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be rough to very rough at times, especially with cloud activity, on Thursday and Friday.
