Dubai: Residents here were treated to late-night rainshowers on Monday as a light-to-moderate rain lashed Dubai and other parts of the UAE from around 10 pm.

Lightning also lit up the skies above the UAE as thunderstorms roared overhead.

Residents reported light showers starting from as early as 7pm, The rain was still pouring overnight of Monday in certain areas of Dubai and some residents shared their snaps here:

This, after a brief respite from hazy and dusty conditions this weekend.

As the showers damped the desert city, the mercury hovered around 20 degrees C. Twitter was abuzz with tweeps sending in their pictures of the downpour.

 

 

Earlier in the day, the weather bureau had issued a warning that parts of the country will again experience hazy weather with a chance of scattered rain over the next three days.

Abu Dhabi, specifically its western part, had seen partly cloudy and hazy conditions on Monday, reducing horizontal visibility, according to the weather bulletin issued by the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

Weathermen expected scattered showers in the country on Monday, especially during evening, except for Fujairah.

This will be accompanied by moderate winds with speeds of between 28km/h to 36km/h.

Residents are still advised to bring out their umbrellas on Tuesday and Wednesday as weathermen predict chances of occasional scattered rain across the country.

Conditions will remain dusty in general but the occasional showers will help settle the dust.

NCMS warns of surfing the sea from Monday evening until Saturday as the sea may be moderately rough in Arabian Gulf but may become gradually rough by evening.

Motorists were advised to be cautious when driving in the rain and in low-visibility condition in some areas possibly due to rain showers.
