Dubai: As rain and thunderstorms hit Dubai and Abu Dhabi, social media users welcomed the fresh downpour on Tuesday.
Some Abu Dhabi residents reported being awakened by loud thunder in the early hours of Tuesday, while rain of different intensities poured out in scattered areas around the country.
Some motorists also reported some water-logged roads.

An update from the UAE's National Centre of Meteorology and Semiology (NCMS) reported moderate rain in Dubai from about 1.15am.

Heavy thundery rain was reported over the city of Abu Dhabi, while Dubai saw moderate rainn.

Rain was still pouring in certain parts of Dubai at 5.45am on Tuesday, while some roads in became water-logged on Tuesday, but many parents still allowed their children to go to school.

In Abu Dhabi, heavy rains were reported over Baynunah and Al Marfa, while moderate showers were seen over Tareef and Ghayati.

NCMS warned late on Monday against towering/rainy clouds associated with fresh to strong winds at times causing blowing dust and poor visibility.
