Dubai: Residents woke up to find many parts of the UAE blanketed in layers of fog Saturday morning. Visibility was poor on many roads in Dubai and Abu Dhabi but no traffic situations or accidents were reported so far, partially aided by low weekend traffic in the morning.

Reports of Fog and mist started to come in last night itself from Ras Al Khaima, Sweihan and Liwa and by morning it has spread to more areas including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Dubai Police has urged commuters to drive cautiously when the visibility is poor and do not endanger lives by speeding above prescribed limits.

National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology has predicted partly cloudy weather and light to moderate winds for the next 24 hours, starting from 8am Saturday.
