Dubai: Scattered rain hit different parts of the UAE, especially Dubai and Sharjah, on Monday.

Conditions for light showers prevail all over the country for the next 48 hours, weathermen say.

Forecasters earlier predicted scattered showers in the country on Sunday, Monday and, possibly, Tuesday, accompanied by windy and dusty conditions in some parts.

Moderate rain was recorded in Al Sila in the Western Region on Sunday morning. Moderate to fresh winds blew dust in most parts of the country, reducing horizontal visibility to less than 2,000 metres on Sunday morning.

Tuesday’s weather will be mostly partly, cloudy across the country with chances of scattered showers, especially in the Western Region. Light rain is projected in the northern emirates as well, according to a weather bulletin from the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

NCMS has warned the public from going to sea during this period as the Arabian Gulf will be rough to very rough on Monday and rough at times on Tuesday while the Oman Sea will be moderate to rough on Monday and moderate on Tuesday.

They also advised motorists to be extra cautious while driving due to poor visibility caused by dust and sand.
