Dubai: Heavy rain hit Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday, with more adverse weather expected on Sunday.

“Tomorrow the rain clouds will be weakened but there is a chance of rainfall in the northern and eastern parts of the country during afternoon time,” a weather forecaster from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) told Gulf News

Clouds started to develop over the Hatta area and extended to the north and northeast areas on Saturday afternoon.

Masafi received the highest recorded rainfall at 35.6mm, while Twayeen was hit with 18.2mm of rainfall.

Accelerated winds started in the morning, blowing dust and reducing visibility to 2,000 metres.
