Dubai: Fog blanketed a huge swathe of the UAE, prompting weathermen to warn motorists about poor visibility On Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road and other adjacent areas on Saturday morning.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) raised the "orange" (be prepared) alert due to hazardous weather as fog/mist formation seen in the central and south western parts of the country.
The heavy fog reduced road visibility down to few hundred metres across in the affected areas, including Al Ain International Airport, Al Minhad, Khalifa College in Al Ain and Sweihan, said forecasters.
As the UAE marks the 46th National Day today, weathermen said it will be partly cloudy For the rest of the day, and at times hazy.
Forecasters predict the clouds to increase at times over the sea and coastal areas and may become convective.
