Abu Dhabi: The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads given the possibility of dust storms in various parts of the country.

The NCMS urged motorists to control their speed and leave enough distance between vehicles to avoid accidents due to reduced visibility.

In a statement on Sunday, the NCMS forecast fair weather in general and partly cloudy conditions at times, with clouds anticipated over some eastern areas of the country by afternoon and light to moderate winds, especially offshore to the west.

“The relative humidity will increase over some coastal and internal areas during night and early morning with a probability of fog or mist formation. Seas will be rough in the Arabian Gulf especially westward and light to moderate in the Sea of Oman,” the statement added.

The NCMS also said that, for the next 48 hours, the weather is likely to show a similar pattern, noting that conditions at sea will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and light to moderate in the Sea of Oman on Tuesday.
