Abu Dhabi: More than 140 people, including 24 families, were evacuated from the waterlogged localities in Al Ain, the Abu Dhabi Police said on Monday.

Al Ain and Abu Dhabi received heavy to moderate rainfall on Monday. Whereas Al Ain’s different localities had streets flooded with water and the police along with other entities of municipality and Red Crescent cleared it.

From December 15 to 18, the police received 23,953 calls from public about the small traffic accidents caused due to rains, in which 14,487 from Abu Dhabi and 7,726 from Al Ain and Al Dhafra.

The police asked motorists to contact its emergency number 999 to provide accurate situation and place of the accident, and urged them to avoid blocking roads.
