Dubai: Expect foggy, hazy conditions on Friday and Saturday as traditional high humidity continues to grip corners of the country at this time of the year.

But take heart — the heat and humidity isn’t likely to last much longer, according to long range forecasts compiled by multiple weather sources.

According to the Dubai Meteorological Office, Friday will see hazy conditions as the temperature climbs to 37 degrees Celsius and combined with a low of 29C overnight, fog will blanket areas of the UAE Saturday morning giving way to a high of 38C later in the day.

For those of us growing wary of summer temperatures topping well into the 40s, weather forecasters say cooler weather is just around the corner.

The long range forecast predicts the last hot day of 2015 in a running trend is likely to come on Wednesday, October 21, topping out at 36C with a low of 27C.

The next day, the forecast notes the daily high will drop by a full four degrees to 32C with an overnight low of 22C.

On October 23, the forecast predicts the high to drop even further to 30C and remain through October 28 when the temperatures will drop once again to a daytime high of 29C and a low of 24C.

The 29C will remain until November 4 when the high temperature will drop to 28C.

Cool weather is expected to prevail throughout the remainder of the year.

From November 7, the low will drop substantially to 22C and remain indefinitely hovering in the low 20s, forecast show.

The forthcoming trend mirrors historical weather records kept by the Dubai Met office between 1984 and 2009 which show that temperatures drop substantially in the weather window between late October and early November.

“It is the latter part of the year when the weather is the most pleasant and settled in the UAE. Maximum temperatures in October are around 35C and although the humidity remains reasonably high, comfort indices have fallen from the extreme levels experienced in the summer,” the Met said.

“As night time temperatures continue to fall, faster than the sea temperature, fog is still a problem in the early morning hours. The weather is usually dry and settled but there have been exceptional years such as 1997 when several weather systems penetrated into the area bringing unsettled wet weather and thunderstorms. The mean sea temperature for the month is 30C,” the Met office stated.
