Dubai: Dense fog descended across the country early Saturday, the Weather Bureau confirmed, saying a haze will persist over some areas for the next two days. Temperatures will remain high, with coastal areas experiencing average highs of 40 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity will also increase by night and early morning, forming mist.

“It is partly cloudy and hazy at times over some areas, and this is likely to persist tomorrow and the day after,” an official from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said. “Due to the humidity, temperatures feel much higher than their actual numbers.”

The NCMS official said coastal areas will experience average highs of 40 degrees, however ‘feel-temperatures’ may reach 50 degrees.

“We will also have light to moderate winds in general,” he said, “at times causing rising dust over exposed areas. Winds may reach 38km/h at times.” The NCMS official also said moderate waves will be formed in the Arabian Gulf, while the waters will be rougher in the Oman Sea and the Strait of Hormuz.

“The weather forecast for the next two days predict little change in the weather conditions,” he said. “Mist may form in the early morning due to the relative humidity increasing.”
