Dubai: Drivers on Monday morning saw various parts of the UAE covered in fog, with a surge in humidity expected as the day unfolds.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) in Abu Dhabi said that although the weather will be generally hot and hazy during the daytime, it will eventually become slightly milder by night.

Over the next two days, the level of humidity is expected to reach up to 90 per cent in coastal and internal areas, and 50 per cent in mountain areas. It will be accompanied by convective clouds, especially in the eastern parts of the country.

“Light to moderate winds [are expected] in general, freshening at times causing blowing dust over some exposed areas,” said the NCMS in its daily weather forecast.

The relative humidity is likely to increase at night and into the early morning over some coastal and internal western areas, with a probability of fog and mist forming over the UAE’s roads, reducing visibility to less than 1,000 metres.

Sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.
