Dubai: Fog made life difficult for airport authorities in Dubai on Tuesday, causing cancellations, delays and diversions to other airports, confirmed authorities.

The fog that covered the UAE on Tuesday resulted in the delay and cancellation of flights arriving and departing Dubai International Airport.

Six flights that were due to arrive at Dubai International Airport on Tuesday were diverted to other parts of the UAE.

“Adverse weather had minimal impact on operations; however Emirates flight EK092 from Milan to Dubai was diverted to Fujairah today, 25 December 2012. After landing in Fujairah at 0830 Dubai time, the flight departed for Dubai at 1015 with a delay of nearly five hours,” said a spokesperson for Emirates.

A total of three flights, that were due for arrivals and departures, were cancelled today, operated by FlyDubai and Mahan Air.

FlyDubai, Ural Airlines, and Iran Asseman Airlines each reported a delayed flight for a total of three delayed flights.

The airport resumed operations by 9am on Tuesday.
