Dubai: The sun is expected to continue hiding over the next couple of days, but good news is in store, as light rain is expected to hit the region of Abu Dhabi.

“The forecast for the next 48 hours is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with clouds increasing over west of the country, inland and in some southern areas, with a chance of light rain during the daytime,” said the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

In a statement issued on Sunday, the NCMS said it expects the weather in the UAE to remain cloudy until Tuesday, with chances of fog in the early morning.

The density of clouds is also expected to increase as of Sunday, particularly over the islands, the western and the internal areas of Abu Dhabi, with a possibility of light rain.

The NCMS predicted that the rain will most likely hit Al Ghuwaifat towards the direction of Al Ruwais, which stretches from Mohammad Bin Zayed City and the south of Al Ain.

“The weather on Monday will be partly cloudy with moderate winds, accompanied with dust clouds with light to moderate winds. By Tuesday, there is a potential for fog in the early morning due to a rise in the level of humidity.”

Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, and will range from 15-25 km/h over land and 18-28 km/h over sea, reaching 38 km/h at times, it added.

The NCMS also said to expect moderate winds in general, which may increase at times, causing dust and sand to blow across the country.

On overall, the level of humidity is expected to increase during the night and early morning over some coastal areas, and the sea to range from slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
