Dubai: Partly cloudy and hazy weather conditions are forecast in the UAE, with the local weather bureau warning of thundery rain clouds that could build up over the eastern and western regions.

An official from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said the cloudy weather is likely to continue over the next two days.

“There’s an increase in the amount of clouds, with a chance of convective clouds amassing over the western and eastern areas by the afternoon,” he said.

Light to moderate winds may blow dust, reducing visibility in some areas.

“There will be light to moderate winds in general but they may be stronger in the vicinity of the convective clouds which may cause blowing dust,” the NCMS official said. “The sea will remain slight to moderate but may become rough at times in the Arabian Gulf.”

NCMS reported that coastal temperatures would reach a maximum of 41 degrees Celsius and drop to a minimum of 27 degrees Celcius. Internal areas will have highs reaching 44 degrees Celsius and lows between 24 and 28. Mountainous areas will have temperatures reaching a maximum of 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 22.

“The relative humidity is likely to increase at night and early morning over some areas,” the official said. “There are also chances of fog formation or mist over the west.”

Coastal humidity is predicted to have highs anywhere between 75 to 95 per cent and lows between 30 to 45 per cent. Internal areas will likely experience humidity highs between 55 to 95 per cent and a minimum of 20 per cent.

“The weather conditions are expected to subsist over the next two days,” the NCMS official said. “We’re still going to see clouds accumulating over the eastern and western areas with light and moderate winds freshening around noontime.”
