Dubai: A truck filled with goods unexpectedly delayed motorists on Wednesday morning – further burdening the already heavily-congested roads in Dubai.

Dubai Police reported an accident at 7.12am, when a truck laden with goods had all its contents spilled out across Nad Al Hamar Road.

Police reported heavy tailbacks in the directions of Mirdif and Umm Ramool, and advised motorists to take alternative routes.

Motorists also faced traffic snarls on a number of routes in Dubai and Sharjah, as rush hour traffic clogged up roads on Al Khail Road near Business Bay, the Dubai-Al Ain Road intersection on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road (E311), and the Ras Al Khor industrial area.

Roads were crawling with traffic on Sharjah’s main roads heading into Dubai, including the E311, Al Tawun area and Al Ittihad Road, which led all the way up to Al Mulla Plaza and reaching Deira City Centre.

Motorists are advised to leave home early and expect delays on their journey.
