Abu Dhabi: The General Prosecution has handed out community service sentences to two men separately on different charges including reckless driving and insulting a police officer, a statement said on Thursday.

In the first case, an Emirati man was sentenced to two months of community service after being found guilty of reckless driving, and then insulting a police officer. The General Prosecution has ordered the man to clean and maintain public parks and gardens in Abu Dhabi.

In the second case, a man from an Arab country was ordered to three months of community service after being found guilty of driving without a licence and endangering people’s lives. As part of his community service, the individual will have to work at a petrol station for three months.

The verdicts were handed down by Al Dhafra Criminal Court, with the court also asking for monitoring reports to check whether the men are following their community service duties.
