Dubai: Two people died and four were severely injured in a two truck collision on Emirates Road on Thursday morning.
Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Dubai Traffic Police, said the accident happened because “a truck had stopped in the third lane from the left, and a lightweight pickup truck tried to avoid collision by braking while 50 meters away, but could not stop the vehicle in time and crashed.”
He noted trucks are not allowed in that lane.
The accident occurred on Emirates Road in the Sharjah Direction, after the Dubai Club bridge.
