Dubai: Two separate vehicle accidents led to two deaths on Emirates Road on Wednesday and Thursday.

Colonel Saeed Hamad Bin Suliman, Director of Al Rashidiya police station, said the first accident involved three trucks on Wednesday, and the 43-year-old driver of one of the trucks died and another was injured.

The accident took place near the winter campsites.

The second accident took place around 1.06am on Thursday, killing a 20-year-old man.

Lt-Col Ahmad Atiq Burquibah, Deputy Director of the Search and Rescue Department, said the car driven by the deceased crashed into the back of a truck at high speed.

“The man was trapped in his car following the impact, and the rescue team had to use hydraulic cutters to get him out,” he said.

The accident took place on Emirates Road after Al Maktoum airport.

Lt-Col Burquibah urged the motorists to drive safely and abide by speed limits and traffic rules, to avoid getting into such tragic accidents.
