Dubai: Don’t be surprised if you see Dubai Police’s supercars and road radar devices inside a mall in Dubai. You won’t be fined — you’ll just be taught about road safety.
Dubai Outlet Mall has been holding the ‘Summer without Accidents’, an awareness campaign, together with Dubai Police, Civil Defence, Al Ameen Secret Service and AutoPro.
Initiated by Dubai Police, the campaign, which aims to promote road safety during summer months, is concluding on Saturday.
The campaign highlights the importance of regularly examining tyres, brake pads, the radiator, and ensuring that the car is roadworthy.
Mall visitors could see Dubai Police’s luxury police cars on display at the mall’s Centre Court, road radars, as well as high-resolution video monitoring by police cameras.
Dubai Police have also been distributing brochures on the importance of safety on the roads, and precautions that need to be taken in order to avoid accidents.
Civil Defence has also been conducting traffic safety awareness sessions and promoting road safety. Its activities included fun workshops educating shoppers about firefighting along with games for children.
And AutoPro has been performing basic tyre pressure checks outside the mall as part of the campaign.
