Dubai: A single digit number plate will be on offer for the first time at the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) 92nd open auction on October 8, RTA announced on Sunday.

To be held at JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, the auction will offer single digit number plate D-5, apart from 80 other plates of two, three, four and five digits.

Registration for bidders will start on Sunday, October 2, and last for one week.

“This auction is bound to generate a huge response, rendering it a standout among other previous auctions. It is expected to attract a massive audience of those in pursuit of exclusivity and excellence. Offering a single digit plate in the auction would captivate the attention of a wide range of people, and trigger stronger competition between number plate enthusiasts,” said Ahmad Behroozian, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency.

Some of the distinct number plates on offer are Q-77, P-27 and O-111.

“Interested bidders are required to register at RTA customer service centres at Umm Ramool, Deira, and Al Barsha. Registration can also be made online via RTA’s website (www.rta.ae) or ‘Drivers and Vehicles’ smart app,” added Behroozian.

Registration for the auction will remain open until the day of the auction, which will start at 4.30pm.
