Dubai: The Sharjah Ring Road will be partially closed for four months, and the diversions are scheduled to start on Sunday.
The Ministry of Infrastructure Development posted a map on its official Instagram account of where the road closure will take place, which will affect motorists and may cause traffic delays.
According to the ministry, the road at industrial area 17 – located behind University City – will be under maintenance from October 15, 2017 to February 15, 2018.
Ahmad Al Hammadi, director of the Roads Department at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, said that the alternative roads provided at the junction will be wider than normal lanes, in order to accommodate the increase in expected traffic.
Al Hammadi also urged motorists to exercise caution and vigilance when driving, and to follow road signs and the speed limit while the road works are carried out.
