Sharjah: Sharjah Driving Licensing Department in cooperation with Al Futtaim Motors has introduced environment-friendly cars to test drivers.
This initiative comes within the framework of achieving the objectives of the Ministry of Interior’s strategic plan to make roads safer and instill a culture of innovation in the institutional work environment.
Lieutenant Colonel Humaid Saeed Al Jallaf, Director of the Sharjah Driving Licensing Department, said that the Sharjah Police is looking forward to the future through launch of the hybrid car, which runs on electricity and fuel, thus reducing the amount of carbon emissions and environmental pollution. He said that the vehicle is economical in terms of operating cost.
Al Jallaf pointed out that they are currently training the examiners to drive the hybrid vehicles.
Sharjah Police encourage motorists to drive environment-friendly vehicles to achieve UAE’s vision 2021 for environmental sustainability.
