Abu Dhabi: Adnoc Distribution will implement a seven-month pilot phase of its smart self-service refuelling (Adnoc Smart) in Abu Dhabi from March 1 to October 1.

The phase will cover four service stations and allow customers to try self-refuelling using “state-of-the-art” technologies and also benefit from varied payment methods.

All customers are encouraged to register for the Adnoc Wallet account to make full use of the new service. Adnoc Wallet allows customers to pay for their purchases at the participating service stations in three different ways: via the Smart Tag, a smart chip installed at the fuel inlet of the vehicle’s fuel tank and linked to the Adnoc Wallet account; the Adnoc Plus cards; or via their ID card that is also linked to the Adnoc Wallet and activated for payments.

The smart payment solutions are aimed at providing customers with added convenience and safety, enabling them to manage their accounts from anywhere, at any time, using tablets or mobiles.

Adnoc Distribution is inviting its customers to subscribe online for their Adnoc Wallet accounts by visiting the company’s website (www.adnocdistribution.ae/smart).

Adnoc Smart eventually seeks to reduce queues and waiting time at Adnoc Distribution’s network of service stations.

Abdullah Al Daheri, CEO, Adnoc Distribution, said the company hopes to expand the service to all stations in Abu Dhabi.

At the launch of the pilot phase, Adnoc Distribution will provide additional incentives to its customers to subscribe to the Adnoc Wallet.

The four service stations included in the pilot phase are all located on Abu Dhabi island — Rabdan service station on Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street — Abu Dhabi Road; Al Nasr service station on Shaikh Zayed the First Street; Al Zafarana service station located near Khalifa University; and Al Qanah service station on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street.
