Dubai: Dubai’s expanding network of bus routes received a boost with three additional routes as well as modifications to several others, as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) revamps its bus services.

Routes F24, 81 and X25 will join the service from September 1, along with several other routes that have been modified to enhance the service.

“Launching the three routes from the start of September is a response to the needs of mass transit users and the booming economic activities in Dubai and the UAE at all levels. It is also a testament to RTA’s unwavering commitment to bring happiness to bus riders by making their transit experience on board this public transport mode enjoyable and comfortable,” said Adel Mohammad Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development of RTA’s Public Transport Agency.

Route F24, a Metro feeder service, will run between Al Ghusais Industrial Area and Stadium Metro station via Al Ghusais Bus Depot, behind Sahara Centre in Sharjah, Enoc petrol station at Al Nahda 1, as well as NMC.

Route 81 will run between Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates, passing through Umm Suqeim Municipal Centre, Umm Suqeim Park, Wild Wadi and other localities.

Running between Al Karama bus station and Silicon Oasis, Route X25 will also cover Center Point Shopping Mall in Al Karama, Oud Metha bus stop near Oud Metha Metro station as well as Umm Al Rumool, before passing by Academic City and Dubai Outsource Zone.

The modified routes include Route 64A, Route 43 and Route F29, which have been extended to serve Centrium Tower at International Media Production Zone.

The RTA has also made some improvements to Route 99, E101, E307 and E400, by increasing the service frequency of these routes during peak hours.

Service timing of Route 53 has also been extended up to 12.30am, and Route F10 will be operational on Friday morning.
