Dubai: Party goers do not have to worry about transport as Dubai Metro will run until 3am on December 31 (New Year eve).

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the Metro , public buses, abra and water bus service will continue to serve commuters until 3am on the night between December 31 and January 1.

The last train will depart from Ibn Battuta Station and Al Rashidiya Station at 02.00 am on January 1.

“This change comes in response to the public desire to have the metro service hours extended on the occasion of the New Year which will be marked by a variety of activities, including the massive fireworks display at Burj Khalifa; which is set to attract thousands of visitors,” said Adnan Al Hamadi, CEO of RTA Rail Agency.

The official also warned the public not to carry alcohol on Metro as it is illegal and can get them fines.

It is little things like these that make me realise that Dubai is becoming a world class city (with adequate infrastructure). Thank you RTA, and good on you. My compliments,
