Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a three-pronged strategy to create world class public transport, improve service delivery and resolve commuter challenges.

The strategy will be executed over three years.

“We are carrying the task of innovation in a streamlined manner. The first thing we have done is to define what innovation means for us as definition is very important to communicate internally and externally what we are expecting or looking to deliver,” said Laila Faridoon, head of RTA’s Innovation Strategy Committee, as she announced the details of the strategy.

“We have earmarked a few focus areas like smart mobility integration, to serve public at 7-star level, to ensure transport in Dubai world class by meeting the needs of all in a seamless and integrated manner,” she added.

Another focus area is to contribute to Dubai’s continued sustainable growth.

The dedicated innovation strategy team has classified the activities in three categories, incremental innovation, substantial innovation and breakthrough.
