Ras Al Khaimah: Motorists will be given a 55 per cent discount on traffic fines from November 1 to November 15, Ras Al Khaimah traffic department announced on Thursday.

Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ras Al Khaimah Police, made the announcement on Thursday morning to mark the 7th anniversary of the ascension day of His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

The 55 per cent discount is considered the highest ever in the emirate and will include all types of traffic violations in Ras Al Khaimah.

Major General Al Nuaimi said: “The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, adopting an ambitious vision, has launched several development initiatives and projects to enhance the quality and standards of living in the emirate and ensure safety, security, and stability everywhere in the emirate.”

Maj. Gen. Al Nuaimi said the decision to grant discounts was intended to reduce the burden on residents.

He urged all motorists to take advantage of this grace period and settle their fines as well as to follow the traffic rules.
