Abu Dhabi: Motorcyclists are urged to exercise caution when driving in foggy conditions or during reduced visibility, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police said. The directorate also advised them to park on outside lines of the road, away from traffic if the fog becomes too dense and it becomes impossible to continue riding safely.

Lt Col Ahmad Al Zeyoudi, Chief of Major Accidents Section at the Directorate, noted that riding motorcycles in such weather conditions is a dangerous practice as they cannot be seen by motorists during the fog.

The official also urged companies and stores that provide home delivery services to ensure that their delivery staff adhere to safety procedures to prevent injuries resulting from accidents, and to wear protective clothing to mitigate injury and enhance their protection.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has called on motorists to exercise caution, reduce speed and keep enough distance between vehicles due to low visibility caused by aggravated sand and dust.

In a statement today, it warned of cumulus clouds accompanied by rain and strong winds in parts of the Eastern Region.
