Dubai: The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority will roll out this week the Nol Blue Card online as well as through ticket-selling booths at Dubai Metro stations.

"The Metro and public bus transport users can apply for the personalised Nol Blue Cards either online through the Nol Card portal or ticket-selling offices at the Metro stations," said Abdullah Al Madani, CEO of the RTA's Corporate Technical Support Services Sector.

This category of Nol Cards has been designed for commuters who frequently use public transport modes and need to recharge their cards continually. Users of this card will not lose their credit balance even if they lose their cards.

Al Madani further elaborated: "The Nol Blue Card is a secure and personalised smart card with an e-purse enabling the user a top-up to Dh500. The card is valid for use on all integrated public transport modes in Dubai and can be recharged through any channel used for topping-up Nol cards."

Form, photo and ID

Applicants are required to complete a form and attach a personal photograph and an ID (passport or ID card). The application is then forwarded to Unifed Automatic Fares Collection Department at the RTA for issuing the Blue Nol Card.

Upon approval, the applicant will receive an SMS containing the application number and date for coordinating the receipt with the delivery company.

The Nol Blue Card will be dispatched through courier. The card is likely to be received within 10 to 15 days from the date of submitting the application and the applicant can also contact RTA Customer Service Centre at 8009090 in case of a delay in delivering the card.
