Sharjah: Sharjah Municipality announced that 90 per cent work on a multi-storey car park in Al Qasimia and 70 per cent on two parking buildings in Al Majaz have been completed.
The municipality said the parking building in Al Qasimia area can accommodate 1,230 cars, and two in Al Majaz area 800 and 750 respectively.
The buildings will consist of seven floors and provide a host of security and safety services that are in line with international standards.
During a field inspection of the projects, Thabet Salem Al Tarifi, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality, said that the municipality is always keen on providing all kinds of services for Emiratis and residents in Sharjah. He pointed out that the goal behind these projects is to reduce traffic jams and ensure smooth traffic flow in surrounding areas. Al Tarifi said that the parking buildings will help reduce the accumulation of cars on the roads and to preserve the civilised image of Sharjah, which has become a key hub for local and global events.
