Dubai: A one-stop shop offering motorists the services of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will open this week on the ground level of Dubai Mall.

The centre, Platinum CWK Vehicles Registration Services, will offer the comprehensive range of the RTA’s services, such as vehicle inspection, issuing/renewing vehicle registration, driving licences, vehicle inspection, and even minor vehicle set-up/repair.

The centre is located in P1 of the Cinema Parking at Dubai Mall, opposite the Dubai Police office.

Operations Manager of Platinum CWK Hamza Jamoos said the centre is a strategic partner of the RTA, therefore the prices of all services are pegged to the official charges.

“Dubai Mall is one of the hottest places in the country,” Jamoos said. “It was only natural to set up a centre such as this for the public’s convenience. Platinum CWK is a strategic partner of the RTA so all the prices and charges are set and monitored by authorities.”

Upon its launch, the centre will be open from 7.30am to 11.30pm. However, Jamoos said plans to keep the centre operational for 24 hours a day were being discussed.

“We have a vehicle testing area by the centre,” he said. “Two lanes are dedicated for light vehicles and one for motorcycles. The centre also offers minor repair services related to car lights. So, for instance, if your car’s reverse lights or brake lights are not working properly, we can replace the bulbs. We also fix wheel alignments.”

Jamoos said the centre features 11 counters in total and is built to government specifications.

“We have a counter designated for those with special needs, others designated to the elderly. We have a separate ladies’ waiting area,” he said. “The centre has been designed based on requirements set by authorities.

“Within four months, the centre will be fully functional, a one-stop shop for anything related to the RTA and vehicles,” Jamoos said.

Facing the Vehicles Registration Services centre is a luxury car showroom, also under the Platinum CWK brand. The showroom features a number of modded muscle cars, accessories, customised rims, and a coffee shop.

“One of our exhibited cars is the Dodge Challenger Hellcat; the only one in the GCC,” Jamoos said. A petrolhead’s dream, the Hellcat is a modded version of the Dodge Challenger. With a 6.4L V8, it spurs more than 700hp and is capable of going from 0-100 in under four seconds.

Last month, Platinum CWK also launched a centre offering businesses and individuals the services of 12 government departments. The centre was opened in Al Mazaya Centre off Shaikh Zayed Road.
