Dubai: One person died and 16 were injured in a number of accidents that took place over the weekend.
Colonel Saif Al Mazroui, Director of Dubai Traffic Police, said on Thursday a vehicle swerved on Al Khail Road, injuring five people. Three people were hit by vehicles in separate incidents the same day, one of whom died.
On Friday, five Asian people sustained severe injuries when the bus they were in overturned after hitting the pavement on Al Qudra Street.
Two people were run over on Saturday on Shaikh Zayed Road in the Abu Dhabi direction by a car that swerved after crashing into another.
