Dubai: Business Bay area will have a new bus route operating from April 1, covering a number of communities, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced.

A number of other routes to different areas have also been modified to serve more people.

The new route F14 will start from the Business Bay Metro station on Shaikh Zayed Road and pass by a number of towers in the area, including Lillian, XL, and Ubora Towers, in addition to serving a number of residential communities in the Business Bay area, including Mayfair, Clayton communities and Bay Square.

“This route has been designed to meet the needs of residents in the Business Bay district and will offer a service every 15 minutes during peak times and every 30 minutes during non-peak hours,” said Adel Mohammad Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency.

He said RTA makes periodic reviews of the network and makes necessary changes with the aim of consolidating the public bus network in keeping with the growing demand for mass transit services.

Starting from April 1, at least nine routes will be modified, including 29 at the Business Bay, F55 to pass through Dubai Logistics City, and C07 to pass through Gold Souk bus station.

Changes have been made to the routes of F33 at Al Barsha, F46 at the Green Community, and F47 at Jebel Ali Industrial Area, extending the route to reach Dubai Investment Park 2.

Routes 96, X92 and F53 have also been modified.
