Dubai: In his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued Law No (15) of 2015 partially amending Law No (17) of 2005 on the establishment of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority.
The new law substitutes the title of Chief Executive Officer with Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Directors and further substitutes the term ‘Board’ with ‘Board of Directors’ wherever they may appear in Law No (17) of 2005 and/or any other legislation in force in the emirate of Dubai.
Law No (15) of 2015 also amends Article No (9) of Law No (17) of 2005 to read as follow: “The Roads and Transport Authority constitutes a Board of Directors that is composed of the Director-General and RTA’s executive directors that will be appointed pursuant to a decree by Shaikh Mohammad.”
The new law aims to create unity and synchronisation between the law on the establishment of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority and other relevant legislations applied in Dubai, in addition to enhancing the administrative work in RTA and its subsidiaries
