Abu Dhabi: All heavy vehicles, trucks and 50-seat-passenger buses used to transport workers will not be allowed to use Abu Dhabi roads during Ramadan, Abu Dhabi Police have said.

The move is part of efforts by police to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and curb accidents caused by heavy vehicles and trucks during the fasting month.

Colonel Mohammad Dahi Al Humairi, Director of Abu Dhabi Traffic Department at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, said trucks and heavy vehicles will be banned from using roads during the morning rush hour from 8am to 10am, and from 2-4pm. 

The 50-seat-passenger buses will not be allowed to use the roads in the morning period from 8-10am.
